Monkey Fact Monday: Rhesus Monkeys!

Hey Monkeys,

Have you heard about Monkey Fact Monday? It is every Monday where Calypso (or other awesome monkeys) add some awesome facts about monkeys to the Go Bananas Blog, well today Taylor told us about the Rhesus Monkey! Let's hear more!!

Picture from National Geographic Mammals page as well as most information below.

As you can see from the picture, Rhesus Monkeys are brownish color with red faces, pretty cute right?
These monkeys are mostly from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Southeast Asia, and China. A few military troops also introduced Rhesus Monkeys to America!
You will normally find Rhesus monkeys eating roots, fruit, seeds and bark, but also bugs and small animals. They live in troops (monkey groups) that can be as big as 200 monkeys! Whoa! That must be NOISY! :-D
Rhesus monkeys can climb and swim really well but prefer to spend most of their time on the ground -- just like us!

Hey monkeys! The latest Monthly Masterpiece, a contest every month with a certain theme to it, has now been released! So, check out all the details:

The MiniMonos Monthly Masterpiece is back with a new challenge for you! Summer is starting for many monkeys so this month we've decided what our theme is going to be: A MiniMonos Summer!

Objective:  Create a video, drawing, sculpture, painting, poem, story or anything else artistic to show us the best summer ever...on MiniMonos!
This is your chance to get creative, the theme is very open so try to be as creative and original as possible!
Here's the catch...your entry has to relate to being eco-friendly :)
Deadline: All entries must be in by July 22, 2011!

Hey monkeys! It's that time of the week again where a monkey is selected, for standing out of the crowd of monkeys by doing something like doing an eco-project, participating in contests, commenting on blog posts on the Go Bananas and Party Master blog, and so on! But this week's Monkey of the Week is,

... really special! The monkey we have chosen for Monkey of the Week worked very hard, and has shown us why she deserves MOTW. Just like you, this monkey plays in world and loves to hang out with her monkey friends!

New Instant Messaging Feature

 Hey monkeys!
MiniMonos has added ANOTHER awesome feature! With this feature, you now have another easy way to get a silver ticket on MiniMonos!

With this feature, first go to the Info Centre then click on the Bonus Bash machine. After this, click on the "Get Tickets" button and you will see next to how to get a silver ticket that is says IM Invites! What this means is, if you click on it a page will pop-up where you can login to your Yahoo, MSN, AIM, GTalk and/or ICQ account, and from there message somebody about joining MiniMonos! You will then wait and if your friend signs up you will receive a free silver ticket! How awesome is that :)

MiniMonos Invite Cards Updated

Hey monkeys!
This is an update that happened a while ago, but MiniMonos has updated their invite cards!
You may remember that MiniMonos used to have old, glitchy and pretty basic printable invite cards for their monkeys! Well MiniMonos had updated these to modern, better looking ones!
Here is what they look like (they will look different based on what your monkey has done, this is just an example of Angie's monkey):

Also, you may have noticed that there are 6 different invite cards, for each different thing, AND you can change the background color on the bottom of each of the cards by using the colors provided at the top of the invite cards tab! Here is a list of what each invite card's "theme" is:

• Monkey Flight
• Bonus Bash
• Buddies
• Grow
• Monkey Fist

Woah! That is awesome! Check them out by clicking on your monkey's journal and then clicking on the top tab, and click on the Invite Cards button!

New MiniMonos xPowers

Hey monkeys!
As a part of the big update today, MiniMonos has also added 2 new xPowers, as well as keeping the old, "Go Sparklies" power!
The new xPowers include:

"Go RWB"
This xPower is a sludge power that makes everymonkey, and their clothes either Red, White or Blue! You may have noticed that these are the three colors that represent July the 4th, which MiniMonos will be celebrating soon! Here is what it looks like:

This xPower makes fireworks fly ontop of the screen on MiniMonos! This is also in celebration of July the 4th party coming up soon! Here is what it looks like...

Hello Monkeys,

New Monkey Fact Monday Facts!

...Golden Lion Monkeys, or as some people like to call them -- Golden Lion tamarin. You'll find that these monkeys are pretty unique.  
You can see from the picture above that Golden Lion Monkeys are small yellow-orange monkeys.
Yawn found some really interesting facts about these monkeys. The adult golden lion monkeys only weigh about 17-24 ounces. As you can see, they get the lion part of their name from the lion-like mane around their necks! Golden lion monkeys have hugely long tails -- most of them measure up to 16 inches, that's longer than their whole body!

New Weekly Wonder!

I've had loads. One time I dreamt I was in this big room, with blue walls! I was there by myself, I didn't know what was happening so I ran towards a door I saw. As I kept running to the door I discovered the door kept moving, great I was in a never ending room. I turned around to see monsters coming towards me and I ran, then I woke up...

Wow, creepy, I've a had dream similar to that before! I was being chased by monsters and I couldn't find an exit! Now this week, we monkeys are being asked:

MiniMonos Treehouse Of The Week

Hey Monkeys,

It's that time of the week again, for TreeHouse Of The Week! This week there was a lot of competition! Calypso had a very hard time picking a treehouse! If your treehouse was not picked do not worry! You always have next week! Now lets go check out....... Broie's Treehouse!

Broie sent a message to Calypso this week to check out the treehouse. He was so glad he did! :D

You can see from Broie's posters that he is a beta monkey, so he's been on Minimonos a while. He has a robot or two... But they seem to have camoflagued themselves! Can you find them? Hehe.

See You Sunday Sundaes

Hey Monkeys,

This See You Sunday we are going to be switching it up a bit, we are going to be making our very own sundae on See You Sunday (Get It? Haha) All of us can bring in our very own sundaes' ingredients to build the perfect ice cream sundae, and we build it during the show. Next Sunday (June 19th) we will be making our very own sundaes!

Bananatastic and EcoMom will also be making their very own sundaes! Remember to have a camera in hand too, so you can show us your awesome sundae! This is very exciting! See You Sunday Sundaes are going to be delicious!
